Next wk I'm into my 7th mth of being a preggie. To date, I've put on a whole 10kg. I am at my heaviest ever! My hubb gleefully mentioned the fact that I am only 4kgs lighter than him. Its ok, I said, it is expected that I will put on around 12kgs through out my whole pregnancy. But what I find kinda hard to believe is the reflection of my tummy in the mirror...really BIG....hmmm ...or is that mirror sort of distorted in some ways...

Last Tuesday, (which seem juz like yesterday) I had my first appointment with my Snr Consultant, Dr Yu Su Ling from SGH. She's quite nice. And really busy. And for the first time I heard Lil' Baby's heart beat. It was quite loud, well it is on the speaker. Lil' Baby is 0.9kg now. All healthy and well, Alhamdulillah! When asked if I am attending Antenatal classes, of which I am, she quickly responded " Good!" " Then I shall test you!" I took a big gulp. Yikes! Antenatal classes also got test one ah.....Sheesh!

My next mthly appointment is in February and after that, I think it would be more frequent, like once a fortnight, I think?

Oh, we have also started to look around for baby stuff. At 6+mths, I get really exhausted easily. So I thought that while I could still walk, we should start the reiki before the real shopping begins.

From the high end of the spectrum is Mothercare at Marina Square. The stuff there are really good quality which of course, comes with really good prices. Initially, we decided that we would not be buying the bulk of the baby stuff here, maybe just a few pieces of the OH SO CUTE baby booties and clothings.

But then we chanced upon Mothercare at Suntec which was having its closing down sale with discounts 20-40% off. Oh, it was so tempting! The jumpers and baby tops there were soo cute! After much calculation, we bought a pack of 3 pcs long sleeves sleepsuits with little teddy bears on it and a pack of 3pcs short sleeves jumpers which is sooo sweeet with the wordings " My little cupcake", it looks good enough to eat! I was tempted to buy the baby cot set with little yellow giraffes which comes complete with a big giraffe which you could hang on the wall and measure Lil' Baby grow. But I cant, mainly coz we havent got our baby cot yet. Oh btw, the sale is on till 14 Feb. Maybe I will drop by again...heh...

While at Marina Square, we also dropped by Kiddy Palace. The stuff there are much more affordable and quite a big range. So since I already have their discount card, (dont ask me why) we sort of decided to buy most of the stuff there unless there is a better bargain elsewhere.

Reading up the IDOBABY forum, I realised that there were mentions of a certain Baby Kingdom & Baby Hypermart in Kaki Bukit Ave. Apparantly, they are the direct importer and so they are supposedly cheaper. But when we compared the prices of basic necessities like wet tissues, milk bottles and basic clothings, the prices are about the same. The significant items are the baby car seat and strollers of which both of these warehouses cum shop seem to have a wide variety of.

Oh well, our reiki have not yet ended. I heard from dear Marina, of a certain HDB shop in AMK which is selling the basic necessities at very favourable prices on top of further discounts. She shops there alot for her three kids. Hmmm...seems like we would need to be making that trip to AMK.

Thank God for the car and for my Hubb, coz I dont think all this reiki is possible without them. Kecian my Hubb tau, drive me here and there, sampai kaki dia penat, MC dua hari.

Is all that reiki really necessary? I would think yes. For a start I figured, we need at least two sets of milk bottles, one set for home and one set for use at the baby sitter's. A sterilizer, which would cost $100+ bucks. Basic clothings, wardrobe/ cupboard for Lil Baby, and many more things Im sure. Ive yet to write down the necessity list. It is also sort of an investment u noe, for future ones, InsyaAllah!
