Hi Peeps!

Seems like my entries seem to lag abit taking into account tat its December Hols. But I tell ya, Hols are no longer fun! No 2 at my work place comes to work everyday! How do you hav fun when the "cat" is always around? Sigh...

K updates on my house reno. We went to 4 different contractors. 3 medium size and a big size firm Chew Interior. Despite all the hype, the quotation seems not much different from each other. But when one walks into the shop, one must try to make a decision which is not to be influenced by the wonders of the showrooms. Of course each company have their own plus points. For example, Under One Roof (yap that's what they are called), have their own carpentry workshop at Sembawang which we had visited. So of course, their cabinets might be cheaper than the rest.

After much running about and tough decision making, we decided to sign with the renovation co tat my mum will be using their service too. Calibre, tat's what they are called. Located at Toa Payoh, its a small co which is a year old. The management is mixed with young Malays and Chinese. But the one factor which made us pick them is the sales person attending to us, a middle age Chinese man, Edgar. One can see that he is quite experienced and capable. We were most comfortable with him and that is one important factor in choosing a renovation company. He will be overlooking all our renovation and today we will be going over to sign the quotation and finally, we can put our mind at ease. Reno will be 3-4 wks but due to the Hols season, we might only be able to move in Feb 06. Sheesh....But nevermind, will keep u updated wif the progress....

Well, I finally got myself a Digi Cam. I was deciding between Canon iXus, Nikon Coolpix and Panasonic Lumix. Canon was only a 2.8x optical zoom so tats out, although they say 2.8 and 3 is not much different. I didnt really like the squarish Nikon Coolpix either but Nikon had always been known to be a trustworthy camera brand. I was especially attracted to the Rose Pink Panasonic Lumix, well, simply because of the color, and of course, it is 5MPx and 3x Optical. (My hubb shook his head when I told him that I prefer Lumix coz of the Rose Pink color) The final factor tat made me choose the Lumix was because it was made in Japan. The Nikon was made in China. (To this, my hubb couldnt say anything more, other than to agree! Haha..)

Blowing my budget of $500 didnt matter coz I bought it at Courts Weekend Specials which comes with
1. Free mini tripod (But the sales person accidentally gave me the big tripod which in his hurry as I was the last customer at 10pm! Didnt realise until I was home)
2. A multi card reader retailing at $39
3. A camera carrying bag
4. A hard case for the camera
5. A Panasonic cordless phone (For our home, yay! Saved some $ there)
6. AND a 512MB SD card!!!!! (Haha...Why do you think I was the last customer that day?)

So here is my spanking new Lumix in Rose Pink.... Dont u juz love the color? Expect more pics coming from my lovely lumix...soon..

I've put up some new items on my ebay...and soon to be website....soon...

Time flies, this Friday will be the last lesson on Econs! Yikes! Exams is 2wks away and Ive yet to get my bum on the chair to really sit down and study! Ok, sweat is rolling down my face now....Panic...Panic...Must Study, Must Study!

BTW, I scored an A for my English Module. How I wish Econs is as easy as English!

Oh, few days ago, I almost got locked in the work place. They armed the work place without properly checking if anyone else is still around. I swear Im gonna leave on time from now on, even if Im late!

Right now, I envy those who are taking leave to go to hols abroad, even if its juz across the causeway. Im stuck here. Take leave but no where to go. But I guess its nothing compared to the feeling I will be experiencing when I finally see my home ready. Mmmmm...really looking forward to that....

Ok. Time to update. Been damn long....Dont ask me, I'll give u the same excuse, u know ....BEEEEZEEEEE.....

Rite, better buckle up guys.....its gonna be a long journey......

Monday
Received a letter a wk before to collect our HDB keys. Pagi lagi pukul 7am I and Hubb dah naik 506. We were early for the appointment which was at 9.15am so we had Long John breakfast. Wah, dah berzaman seh tak mkn breakfast together! Bila sampai kat HDB we bought the fire insurance and proceeded to get our queue no. Masa tunggu tulah, my Hubb ada luahkan rasa mcm dia nak ....tapi tak sempat. *BEEP* our queue no was being called. Kita pun masuklah thru the doors tat said Sales Office. Banyak documents yang kita sign pagi tu. Syiok jugak, sempat dapat rasa macam superstar bila org mintak autograph...cewah! By the time I am signing the last set of documents, my signature pun dah berubah, dah macam cakar ayam! Finally we got hold of the set of 26 keys to our home in the North East.

Perasaan? Satu mcm punya rasa beb, excited macam nak giler ada, macam constipated pun ada. Kite tak ready sangat pasal baru kemarau pocket dek sebab raya nak pass, ni dah nak kena pakai duit. Macam nak tercekik rasanya!

Niwaes, kita terus naik bas to Hougang and then to our humble home. Jakun lah katakan! Agaknya orang tak sejakun kitelah, seems like we were the only one at the new flat. Tambah lagi bawah blok tu banyak apek2 contractor. Bila kita pass aje, semua perhatikan aje. Lepas tu startlah satu2 ketuk pat pintu depan, promotion, promotion.

Haiz... banyak betul homework nak kena buat. Susah jugak eh nak start building a home walaupun we wont be doing a lot of renovation coz its a Premium flat.

THE CORIS-This is the exterior look:

Promise to update on the reno works wif pics (provided I could finally decide on the digital cam model that Im getting). Tat is if Im not (lets say this together now)...Beeezeeee....

Tuesday
Tak payah story ah, boring, work as usual....

Wednesday & Thursday
Was the School Retreat at Changi Village Hotel in duh...where else...Changi Village ah! Did I tell you tat I stayed there on my wedding night? I really like tat hotel, the Modern Contemporary Deco of the rooms and the endless pool on the 8th floor....haiz....how I wish I could stay there forever....the one thing I like abt the bathroom is the see through glass panel of which you could watch TV while relaxing in the bathtub. Niwaes the Retreat was more like a retreat into the seminar room! We spent only a minute fraction of the two days outdoors. To me it defeats the purpose of going sooo far away juz to be locked up in the seminar room with schedules goin from 8am to 10pm....Might as well lock us up in school! No wonder Im damn tired when I got back on Friday!

Friday
Took the day off coz Im totally knocked out of my socks after 2 days of the Retreat. Washed mountains of clothes but the sun refused to cooperate. Start packing for the Kampung Trip to Msia on Saturday and Sunday. Can u believe this?

Afternoon, met up with Hubb and went to HBay to get some advice on reno. The lady there was quite informative and helpful. I would advise future flat owners to drop by HBay for info prior to renovating. They have new contractors attached there everyday who will be able to provide you with a quote free of charge and of course no obligations. The interesting thing is the trips that HBay organize once a mth. This mth it was a days visit to some interior design contractors where advices will be given on renovation and even to the factories. Next mth, there might be a trip organized to real homes which had been renovated by some of the companies. This would be interesting to attend as there are always something to learn or some new ideas which we may like to incorporate into our own home. Finally its off to Economics class! Yikes!

Saturday
Met up with some fella Crafterians at Bugis and proceeded to Arab st. I discovered that these people were really into craft. Its like craft is the blood running in them. Everything they do always have something to do with craft but of course they dont eat craft? Crazy or wat?! My craft seems sooo tiny and insignificant compared to them. There was this lady who sews Peranakan Manik Shoes, she's selling them for four digits. Gosh!

Finally I met up with Espirtz, the person who introduced me to Craftster. She recently started a LJ selling her brooches too. See her shop

My Ebay Spore shop SimplyLNe is doing ok, i guess. Since September, Ive had 3 customers and 1 tak jadi customer (I was at the Retreat, couldn't meet her deadline). This taking into account I have only 4 items. Hehehe...Im trying to create more brooches, so keep a look out for my new collection coming this December.

I'm actually trying to market my brooches to young muslimahs wearing hijabs/ tudongs. Im sure there are some of them out there who are looking for unique brooches to be worn for school or work other than the usual brooches of made of silver or gold that will fade with time. However, Im not sure how do I get the attention of these muslimahs. Is there a forum or somewhere where I can market my stuff? Anyone? Help?

Oh rite, Saturday & Sunday
Was in Msia, went back to kampung in Negri Sembilan and Malacca. I must say a very packed wkend tat was. Glad its over...fuyoh....now to conquer the mountains of clothes that needed washing.... again.....sigh..
*********************************************************
Dang! Cant access to Craftster today. Now Im damn bored! Trying to kill time coz tommorrow Im on leave! Yipee!!! Will be going to Chew Interior Design and a few other reno contractors to get quotations. So I guess Ill see u next wk? Maybe, if Im not beeezeee.....
