Sad to say, Im 27 now.
27 is in between, not yet 30 but not early twenties....
But...my hubbs did a very sweet thing for me on my bdae tat I tink it will be the sweetest birthday I hav ever had!!! He wanted to get me a spa package for my birthday. He knows I like to be pampered, like a TaiTai.
Well, it didnt really come to me as a surprise. One day, I hinted (quite obviously) to him that it is March already, how time flies, how it had been 6 mths since we first became hubbie n wifey, I winked and nudged him in the ribs but still....haiyah!!!! Trust my hubb to get the hint, I then asked him wif very thick skin (I had to...at this point I must know or it will bug me)
"Dear, hehehe...u know end March is a special day rite?"
"Huh?"
"U know someone's special day...."
(after my hubb face showed a million ???qn marks???)
"My birthday lah!" (Faking a merajuk)
"I know lah...I've been thinkin of getting you a spa package. So you want me to choose?"
(Wif much girlish curt) "Yeah! You remembered after all!"
"Of course I do, March 31 rite?"
"Huh!" (Tis time really merajuk)
"I knowlah, 29 lah, so how, I choose or wat?"
(Quickly recovering)"Oh! I can do a search tommorrow, I let you know....U must go also k, we go for the couple2 spa package lah, together-gether....yeah, yeah, it will be fun!"
So on the wkend b4 my birthday, we went to The Retreat Spa & Thalasso Ctr at Changi Village Hotel Le Meridian. It was a great experience! Firstly the hotel is soo far fr civilization, well, not really true but at least far fr the buzz of town. Of course the hotel room was also soo cool, wif its comtemporary look, one of the reasons we came back here again. (Didnt I tell you that our wedding night was spent here too! So this was like re-living that night. Ehem....) We were there on Saturday afternoon and left only on Sunday 3pm with much unwillingness.
On Sat we were treated like queen and king at the The Retreat. Our room was at the end of the corridor, as we entered the room we were greeted by soothing music. There were rose petals in the soak bath. The room was heavily curtained with candles and the ambience made me feel so relaxed.
The treatment started wif a 20 mins relaxing shoulder massage whilst our feet were soaked in pepermint tinted warm water wif few pebbles. The soak left us wif a tingly sensation on our feet. We were then told to change to a kimono (oversized for me) before the real treatment began.
Our treatment began wif a Swedish Oligo Scrub. It felt like I was a canvas as I felt the rough brushing on my skin, it felt funny actually but I kept telling myself to think of the dead skin being brushed away. Imagine the relief when we started on the massage session. Although the masseur auntie (experienced and very strong) was on top of me, kneading me like a dough, I did not feel any pain at all! I was in total bliss, breathing in the lavender scent and I think I kinda dozed off coz when the auntie wanted me to turn over, I was sort of in the dreamy mood....(hope I didnt drooled! Tat wld be sooo embrassing!)
Next, my lymphatic points were then pressed lightly, it was to help our lymphatic drainage. Finally, we spent 20 mins in the sauna. I felt I was in a dream, the steam from the sauna made me feel floaty and so light!
My hubb definately enjoyed the session, although it was only 2 hrs, we felt like it was forever! (Plus the fact that a very strong "lady" was massaging him, I wonder who enjoyed the massage more....hehehe.....oh! but she was a very good masseur, according to my hubb, very strong hands! hehehe....) It was a first for him and I believe it would not be so difficult for me to persuade my hubb to go to another spa get-away the next time.....
We ended the wonderful day lying on the sandy beach of Changi, gazing at the bejewelled sky.
The next morning we were at the roof top endless pool on the 8 floor. We watched the ships pass by in the jacuzzi pool, enveloped in each others arm. The day sadly ended with a hearty Changi Village Nasi Lemak before we had to return to reality.
27 will be a birthday I will remember....Thank you Dear.....
